Elmhurst Short Stay

Elmhurst Short Stay is part of our older people's service and offers respite for reasons such as:

  • regular breaks for carers/families.
  • temporary stay due to house renovations, awaiting equipment, or for homecare services to start.
  • following time in hospital, where there is a need for a period of recovery, rehabilitation or convalescence (you may have heard the term IMC, which means intermediate care - scroll down for more information on this).
  • following urgent and/or unforeseen emergency situations which require people to vacate their own homes immediately or to keep them safe.
  • a holiday for your own benefit.

Intermediate care (IMC)

14 of our rooms offer intermediate care* or IMC, for short term rehabilitation after a hospital stay.
