Hello, my name is…
Barry Lyon

I have joined the forum because…
I want to make a contribution to improving services for people living with and affected by dementia.

A little bit about me…
I have worked in the voluntary and community sector all my life I was the chief officer of a large not for profit advice agency and now I am the local service manager for the Alzheimer’s society. I also sit as a board member for a local CVS and Credit Union.

 
Why have you decided to join the forum?
I am passionate about ensuring services are accessible to all and as Persona is fairly new organisation saw it as a great opportunity to help develop and shape services for the future.

What’s your greatest extravagance?
Just bought a new singing and dancing TV after my old one of 17 years finally gave up the ghost.

What makes you angry?
Poverty and all the inequality it brings.  

Who/ what makes you laugh?
Slapstick basically

What is your favourite film?
At the moment The Shawshank Redemption

What is your most embarrassing moment?

Far too many to mention


What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Playing squash badly, walking, and trying to keep my garden tidy.

What is your favourite food and drink?
Lots of things but a good curry and a decent pint of dark beer, not usually at the same time!

Who would you want to be on a desert island with, and why?
Ray Mears so I would not starve to death and we could live in relative comfort.
