Hello, my name is...
Jean Foster

I have joined the forum because…
I believe that it is important that volunteers have a voice within the organisation so that services can be delivered more efficiently.  I think that if Persona is to thrive it will need to look for more innovative ways of doing things well and at a price which customers will be willing to contribute

A little bit about me…
I have lived in Bury for sixteen years and have love living here. I retired from paid employment in 2015 but I am a very active pensioner, walking either as a qualified walk leader for I Will If You Will or with my dog who I got after I retired. I live with my husband who is a retired nurse and both of us care for his mother who is living with dementia. I am currently studying for a degree in English Literature at Bolton University.  I am the co-founder of Brandlesholme’s Incredible Edible Garden and on the Management Committee of Brandlesholme’s Resident’s Association.
Why have you decided to join the forum?
I want to be a successful volunteer within an organisation that values its volunteers and their contribution.

What’s your greatest extravagance?
Buying books

What makes you angry?
Bad customer service especially when this is delivered to people who are unable to speak up for themselves

Who/ what makes you laugh?
Peter Kay

What is your favourite film?
Truly Madly Deeply

What is your most embarrassing moment?
A solicitor, more famous for his rugby playing prowess walked across a crowded Banquet Hall at a formal dinner to give me a kiss following a successful court case we had worked on together.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Walking my dog down paths we have never been down before just to see where we come out.

What is your favourite food and drink?
Crème Brulee and Chablis (but not together!)

Who would you want to be on a desert island with, and why?
Alan Rickman  so I could pretend we were in Truly Madly Deeply together
