Do you want to make a difference to adult social care in Bury? Join us today and help shape its future.
The Friends of Persona see themselves as a channel for communication and improvement within Persona, as well as ambassadors for our services in the wider community. We are looking for people to join the Friends (previously the Stakeholder Forum) to help us improve our services and get new ideas to make us more effective.
The Friends are a vital part of shaping the high quality adult social care services Persona provides for older people, people with physical and learning difficulties and dementia. They provide feedback from customers, relatives and staff on how our day care centres and short stay services are performing and the support services we provide in people's homes; they also take part in 'mystery shopper' exercises in our services and review and comment on social care provision.
The role is unpaid with travel expenses reimbursed and members commit to attending meetings every two months. There are also opportunities to attend events organised in our services, such as parties and open days, and to represent Persona at events in the community.
To be eligible, you must live, work or be training in Bury, or represent a community group or organisation in the area. Anyone is welcome, whether you have experience of using social care or not. You could join us as a customer, carer or relative, a health or social care professional or a volunteer; we value everyone's experiences and opinions.
Susan Ruddock, the chair of the Friends of Persona, says
"The Friends of Persona plays an important role in shaping and improving the services which Persona provides to customers. Members provide crucial insights into what’s working well and what could be improved."
