Elms Bank visit Persona Employment Pathways for open day

It's open day season for schools and colleges at the moment and our Persona Employment Pathways (PEP) team are keen to share a different option that's open to students across Bury; supported employment.

We welcomed students from Elms Bank School and College to The Green Café today, where they talked to our specialist job coaches about how they can learn transferable job skills, get a job or volunteering role and get a vocational qualification with PEP.

Students said they had an interesting day as they hadn't heard about PEP; they said the food was really good and they enjoyed the activities. "I didn't know anything about PEP" said one student; "can I work here and get paid?"

What does PEP offer?

We'll develop people's skills, confidence and independence; we'll help people find the right path to follow their dreams. Our support includes:

• one to one support from job coaches with systematic instruction training (TSI) and positive behaviour support (PBS) training
• support on a skills placement in one of four different job roles (one of these is at The Green Café) to teach you general job skills and get a national qualification if you want one
• support to get a job or volunteering role that interests you 
• on the job support for up to 6 months

Who can get employment support from PEP?

Adults over 18 who live in Bury and have a learning disability or are neurodivergent.
