Persona's Celebration Day

It became clear several months ago that our normal PersonAwards celebration would not be possible this year; not only are we unable to gather together and celebrate, but how could we single out a small number of staff for recognition in a year when every single one of them has gone above and beyond the call of duty to keep our customers safe and happy?

So we decided to host a virtual celebration - an online party for staff and customers to join in and look back at the last five years, have a dance and win some great prizes, donated by our generous sponsors Brunsdon, A&P, HealthPerks, Horsfield and Smith, Cuppaccino and Xceed Care Compliance.

Everyone was given wooden plaques to decorate together (wood is a traditional five year anniversary gift) and instead of the usual birthday cupcake, each member of staff received a REACH badge.

Balloons, bunting and wooden trees sprung up across Bury as every service prepared to join in the fun, some with themed parties including Downton Abbey, Abba and a medieval banquet!

This online celebration was a first for us and meant we had to dig deep during our Technology in Care quarter to learn some new technical skills ourselves! Despite a couple of technical glitches, the afternoon went well and was well received by the many customers and staff who joined us remotely.

We'd like to give a special shout out to the members of the event team who made it all possible, making the virtual afternoon a reality by producing, presenting and supporting it both on the day and in the lead up - even visiting individual services to ensure they had the necessary equipment to join in.
