Woodbury answered an emergency call to help Martin when his parent and his main carer passed away in 2019. Arthur’s staff team had to stay at home as they were in the shielding category during Covid-19, so Arthur came to Woodbury.
While staying at Woodbury, Martin met Arthur and they both stayed through lockdown, where strong bonds were formed between them. Staff at Woodbury quickly noticed that they got along well with each other and had similar interests. Staff saw an opportunity for Martin to move in with Arthur, as Arthur’s previous housemate had passed away a few months prior to him moving to Woodbury.
Martin’s social worker contacted his brother, to be sure he would be happy in his new living arrangement. And so, after having a look round Arthur’s property, Martin’s brother agreed that this was the right move.
When shielding had ended Arthur was able to return home, as his Supported Living staff team was able to return to work. Soon Martin followed Arthur into his new home and a new chapter of his life where both he and Arthur will live it to their best, thanks to the team at Woodbury and Supported Living.
