Could you share your home, family life and activities you love doing with an adult who needs extra support due to age, illness or disability?
We're looking for people to join our Shared Lives scheme as a carer. It's a rewarding way to and you can offer as much or little time as you are able to.
You don't need any previous experience and we'll provide all the training you need.
Shared Lives has been a huge success nationally and the people living in Shared Lives schemes say they feel more settled, valued and make friends more easily than they do in more traditional types of care.
We want to make the scheme available to more people and you could help us by becoming a Bury Shared Lives carer.
We offer three areas of support:
Day Support: Could you offer your time to teach someone a hobby, take them out on a day trip or have someone over for Sunday lunch?
Respite: Could you offer support for one or two days a week, or for overnight stays to offer respite for family carers?
Long-Term: Do you have room in your heart and home for someone to move in with you for a few weeks, months or even years?
If you have a caring nature, have previously cared for people or you're looking for a new paid opportunity at home, apply now to start a fresh journey that will enrich your life like never before.
You don't need any qualifications, you just need to care.
We will support you every step of the way and there's loads of support when you need it. You'll have a dedicated scheme worker to talk through anything you're not sure about and to celebrate your successes. We will match you to people with similar interests and support you every step of the way in your new role. People living with a Shared Lives carer may also take part in other activities and support with other services outside your home, to help them live a fulfilling life.
