Ben builds up his confidence

After the pandemic, Ben lost his confidence and had stopped going out by himself.

He had given up his weekly visits to Bury market every week and was missing his outings until he met the Bury Shared Lives team in early 2024.

We matched Ben with Paul for day support and once a week they would travel to Bury by public transport, go to a local café and have a look around the market. Ben has rebuilt relationships with some of the market stall holders and people who run a café there and after a year of support from Paul, Ben is happily going into Bury alone a few times a week. He goes to the market and enjoys breakfast at his favourite café and we're thrilled we could help him get his confidence back!
