As we get older it can get harder to enjoy a warm bath and sometimes we might have to move into a home that doesn't even have a bathtub.
But why miss out on all the benefits, especially if you have a chronic condition that leaves you in pain?
Our gorgeous bathing facilities at Grundy Hub are for anyone who wants independent or suppported pampering and relaxation in beautiful surroundings, but who doesn't have the opportunity at home and we have two, unique bathrooms for you to choose from.
Who is Grundy bathing for?
Anyone who lives in the Bury borough, is over 50 and needs support to have a bath can book our bathrooms.
What facilities do the bathrooms have?
The Sanctuary is decorated with relaxing grey stone and deep pink walls and it has:
- a reclining bath with vertical side raise door and variable height and tilt - immerse yourself neck deep in water and enjoy multicoloured, underwater lights for a spa atmosphere
- wheelchair accessible, walk in waterfall shower with removable shower head
- colour coordinated, non slip floor
The Retreat is decorated with relaxing grey stone and deep pink accents and it has:
- bath with chair lift
- ceiling track hoist
- colour coordinated, non slip floor
Why is bathing good for you?
Bathing is good for our health and mental wellbeing, but sometimes as we get older, decreased mobility can make this simple pleasure more difficult. It can:
-
improve circulation, helping you heal and reducing welling
-
reduce blood pressure
-
improve heart function*
-
relax muscles and joint stiffness, reducing pain
-
reduce inflammation
-
calm your nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety and improving mood
-
help you to sleep better
*for healthy people without heart disease. Please chat to your GP about any health concerns before trying something new.
What else can you do at Grundy Hub?
With qualified care support, you can enjoy a soak in our specially designed facilities and then socialise with other people at the hub to round off your day of wellbeing.
