Litter Picking Bury

As part of our Green Themed Quarter, our green ambassador, Carmen Gillon-Weerasinghe, organised a small group to litter pick in Bury Town Centre. 

Carmen told us:

I arranged a small campaign to give something back to the environment. We were supported by Kathy Taylor from Bury Council, who oversees litter picking events throughout Bury. She kindly donated pickers and bags to support the event.

We met at Bury Interchange in the morning and went all over Bury Town Centre including:

• Bury Parish Church
• Silver Street
• Liberty Gardens
• Kay Gardens

Everyone received lots of compliments from the public as they cheered us on.

Once we finished litter picking, we were all treated to some lunch at Baps in the Millgate as a thank you for our hard work.
