Aisha is doing a skill placement where she has been developing her confidence and independence.
How has Aisha's confidence grown since starting her placement?
Since joining the team, Aisha has started to do things on her own initiative, both in her role at the café and at home.
How is Aisha showing more independence outside of the café?
Sonia, Aisha's mum, shared a lovely example: 'After a shopping trip, I left my bags on the side and went to do something else. When I came back, Aisha was excited to show me that she had put everything away.'
What changes has Aisha's family noticed?
Sonia has noticed a positive difference in Aisha's attitude since starting at the café, saying she is now eager to get up and start her day when she knows she's working there.
Has Aisha received any recognition for her progress?
Yes! Aisha has been awarded Star of the Month (which we used to call Volunteer of the Month). This award recognises her hard work and the progress she's made so far.
