Employment Pathways

We support people to grow their job skills, get qualifications, find paid jobs or volunteering opportunities and to support them in that role when they get one.

We know that people who want to work and/or volunteer don't always know how to get started, yet every day we see the positive effects of working and volunteering on people's self esteem and wellbeing.

We're here to help people explore their options and achieve their aspirations. 

Who is Persona Employment Pathways (PEP) for?

Adults (18 and over) who 

• live in Bury
• have a learning disability or are neurodivergent

What can PEP do for people across Bury?

While we're raising awareness of the importance of working and/or volunteering, we're:

• providing opportunities to learn job skills and get a qualification.

• building on people's confidence and independence.

• enabling people to find roles they can succeed in with tailored, expert support.

How will we do this?

We'll be there every step of the way.

We'll work with people who want to start their journey by:

• asking them about their skills and interests
• seeing what skills they need to get a job or volunteer
• understanding what support they may need during employment
• boosting their confidence and skills
• offering a choice of skills placements with different levels of customer service and team working
• supporting them to learn transferable job skills and get a qualification
• finding the right role for them
• providing 1:1 support before and during their roles, from specialist job coaches

We'll also work with employers:

• helping them understand what people with a learning disability need to thrive in work
• coaching them to offer the right support and guidance
• understanding the benefits of employing someone local through employment support

What has PEP supported people to achieve so far?

Since we launched, we've supported 7 people into paid work and 4 into volunteering. We also have a 100% success rate on the qualification we offer on our skills placement.

After feedback from people we support, we expanded the skills placements we offer, so there are now 4 to choose from.
